Born and raised in Riverside, CA, I grew up in a household where music and art were cherished. Early on in my life my parents started their own business: a small vintage store which evolved over the years into several buy/sell/trade clothing stores in southern California. I grew up running through the aisles, hiding in clothing racks and eventually working in and managing one of their stores. There are two DeeLux locations going strong today.
As a teenager I became hooked on rock 'n roll, learned guitar, and became the leader of a band. Over the years I've followed this passion and it's led me all over the world.
Beyond writing, recording, and performing I've always loved creating visuals to coincide with my music. I loved making music videos, creating album art and doing photoshoots; it allowed me to create another persona and be whoever I wanted to be.
In 2016 I moved to L.A. with my sister to continue pursuing music. While adjusting to an artist's lifestyle we decided to try out our business skills and began selling clothes online. In order to make this happen we bought a camera and a photography course.
I had studied art and experimented with photography but it wasn't until this venture that I became hooked. My sister and I ran around L.A., always in search of the perfect shot that would make a $8.99 dress from Goodwill look like a million bucks. I became obsessed with curating these shots.
As I continued my career in music I brought my camera on tour and was rewarded with endless inspiration. When I wasn't on the road I was studying one-on-one with photographer Dan Garcia. I was hungry to learn and I couldn't get enough.
After photographing musician friends I began working with local businesses and designers. Working with these makers and creators allowed me to hone my skills and my personal style.
Being a working photographer in Los Angeles has gifted me the opportunity to merge all of my passions into one while connecting with others who share those passions. Whether I'm working with a small business, a musician, or a fashion brand, my understanding of the drive to create is what makes my work unique. Taking an idea or spark and creating a whole new dimension is my specialty.
Afterall, what is life without creation?
